I know my car is supposed to be built to slide mad corners, but what if the mad corners are really far away in the game? Am I supposed to drift the entire way? I'm not that good at drifting.

Depends if you carrying enough momentum, sometimes you gotta trust and hold the gas and try transferring the weight so when you're approaching the corner you basically got your mph and you're weight pushing you to the corner. Holding the clutch and e-brake will hold your angle and weight giving you a little more distance if you need it.
